My Name Was Mushroom: My Life as a Teenage Runaway in The Source Family Commune

Even with the messy childhood that I had and my teenage years with The Source Family, I am grateful for the experiences and the lessons I learned that have carried me to the life I live today. I joined The Source Family at 14 years old to begin my spiritual journey, to feel loved, to give me guidance in life and to learn who I was and wanted to be. It was a crazy and confusing time however, what I experienced helped shape me into the strong-willed, determined, and compassionate woman and mother I am today. I am now married to the love of my life, I have the most amazing kids and grandkids in the world, and my husband and I own our own insurance business. I would not have this wonderful life now, if I never overcame my experiences from my younger years and now, I get to give back by helping other women and children out of situations and overcome their experiences too.
